Lot et Garonne
The department of Lot-et-Garonne is located in South-West France. It is part of the region of Aquitaine and is bordered by the departments of Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne, Gers, Landes, Gironde, and Dordogne.
This area has some of the most unspoilt landscapes and archietecture in France. You will find many Chateaux, Medieval towns, Caves, Rivers and beautiful Gardens.
The department is crossed southeast–northwest by the Garonne River, which flows through Agen, its capital. The climate generally has temperate winters and hot summers.
Cheap flights into Bordeaux and Bergerac make this area easily accessible from the UK for most of the year.
Dordogne
Dordogne is a department in central France named after the Dordogne River. It is the third largest department of France and is part of the region of Aquitaine< Dordogne is surrounded by the departments of Haute-Vienne, Corrèze, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Gironde,Charente-Maritime, and Charente.
The Dordogne is one of the favourite destinations of British immigration to France and it has much to offer. There are beautiful rivers for boating and swimming. Cycling, walking and relaxing at the river shore beaches are also popular activities. As well as outstanding the scenery, there are numerous pretty towns and villages, plus many châteaux, caves and museums. The Dordogne area has a good climate with long hot summers and generally mild Winters.
